WhiLD™ Hoof Bath with Lavender

    WhiLD™ Hoof Bath has been under development, testing, evaluation and optimization for over a decade by Bay Armour™.

     WhiLD Hoof Bath  is a potent and long lasting antimicrobial blend of minerals that inhibits White Line Disease. WhiLD Hoof Bath is formulated with coconut oils for damaged hoof wall and lavender for additional antimicrobial action and relaxation during use. Mixed with warm water, this blend of all natural ingredients soothes and cleans all parts of the hoof while infusing protective minerals and oils deep into the areas of contact. Once infused into the hoof wall, these minerals provide long term protection as the hoof repairs itself. 

      WhiLD Hoof Bath was initially developed as an attempt to save retired thoroughbred racehorse (Cobia, Canterbury Park). In 2003, as lesson horse at a riding stable in Massachusetts, he had suffered a massive infection of one hoof resulting in complete resection of the hoof. During rehabilitation, he developed "shelly" hooves that could barely hold a shoe.

      Unknown to his caretakers at the time, the disease progressed to all 4 hooves. Resection of large areas of undermined hoof wall and use of all newly available therapies provided temporary resolution, but the problems soon returned.  After adoption by Bay Armour, improved nutrition, farrier care, and daily exercise protocols helped, but were not sufficient. After several years, WhiLD Hoof Bath was developed and tested by Bay Armour. One soak was all that was needed to arrest the progression of White Line Disease and infuse minerals deadly to bacteria and fungi, but safe for hooves and horses.  By infusing the protection into the hoof wall directly, the hoof could finally grow out to become a normal thoroughbred hoof. 

His hooves remained solid and healthy for over 15 years. After 2015, he no longer needed shoes.  When minor hoof defects appeared on occasion, a simple, safe, soothing soak in WhiLD Hoof Bath is all that is needed to stop the progression and provide long term protection.

An unanticipated but welcome finding during the decade of development work on WhiLD Hoof Bath is that thrush, scratches and rain rot are also no match for WhiLD. as they are also caused by bacteria and fungi  Usually a single treatment will prevent further destruction and afford the time needed for healing of the damaged frog and skin.
